WDFW Invitation for Conservation/Recreation Area Comments

WDFW Invitation for Conservation/Recreation Area Comments

By Beth Easterday

The State Department of Fish and Wildlife is asking for the public’s support and assistance in identifying conservation and recreation areas. The initiative called “Washington’s Wild Future: a Partnership for Fish and Wildlife” is meant to increase the relationship WDFW has with the public, and increase support for conservation and recreation on public lands.

Comments are accepted through October 31, 2105 at the WDFW website:

This is our opportunity to comment AGAIN to WDFW to save Barnaby Slough from the SRSC project of diverting the Skagit River into the Barnaby Slough.

And its another opportunity to have your comments heard to save a valuable peaceful part of the upriver community that is used by many for recreation.

Please write in before October 31, 2015 and ask WDFW to build a relationship with the hunters, fishers, outdoor recreation groups and others interested in fish and wildlife in Washington. Ask WDFW to identify Barnaby Slough as a conservation and recreation area.
